SOLD - Matchless 1967 G80CS
Matchless G80CS 1967
This Matchless G80CS 500cc was dispatched to J B. Matchless in the USA on 1st May 1967 and comes with 2 US title documents. It returned to the UK and was issued with a V5C document in May 2001. This motorcycle is a genuine competition G80CS and has a Certificate of Authenticity from the AJS & Matchless Owners Club confirming it retains its original frame, engine and gearbox. The V5C, registration document confirms the registration number as PGV 128E and it is registered as a historic vehicle and is therefore free of road tax and MOT exempt. The number is non-transferable.
As will be seen from the photographs the bike is in a fabulous condition and retains many of its original parts and finishes. We believe the bike has undergone a limited restoration by previous owners. The petrol tank was repainted, new seat fitted, the original Dunlop rims re-chromed and new stainless steel spokes. The speedo has been re-furbished and new speedo drive and cable fitted. The bike is fitted with Dunlop Universals tyres.
We recently took this bike in as a part exchange and the previous owner owned if for only a short time but maintained and serviced it to a high standard. Since acquiring it we have been through it carefully and have cleaned the magneto and reset the points, cleaned the carburettor and adjusted the tappets.
