Matchless 1964 G80CS
This Matchless G80CS 500cc is the best looking G80CS we have seen in a very long time and has recently undergone a full cosmetic and mechanical restoration. The V5C, registration document confirms the registration number as YHH 876B and it is registered as a historic vehicle and is therefore free of road tax and MOT exempt. It is declared manufactured in 1964 and the number is non-transferable.
As will be seen from the photographs the bike is in a fabulous condition and retains many of its original parts and finishes. We have been informed by the previous owner who undertook the restoration that the engine has been completely rebuilt and all parts replaced where necessary. At some time in the past the crankcase has been damages and repaired to a very high standard and the repair is barely visible. During this process the engine number was re-stamped.
We sold this bike in 2023 and have recently bought it back from the owner as he is raising funds to start a new business venture. Whilst in his ownership the previous owner maintained and serviced it to a high standard and fitted a new set of tyres. Since acquiring it back we have checked over the bike thoroughly but in all honesty haven’t needed to do a great deal except change the grip to standard Amal ones and a few adjustments. This bike needs for nothing. It also has a brand new battery fitted.
