SOLD - Matchless 1941 Airborne 350cc

Sale Price:£6,495.00 Original Price:£7,000.00
sale

This original WD motorcycle was supplied to the War Office under contract C11102 dated 21st July 1941.  There were 3352 motorcycles supplied under this contract and many were known to have been delivered to the British Airborne forces.

The bike comes with a current V5C, registration NSL 952 and is registered as a historic vehicle and is therefore free road tax and MOT exempt.

The bike has retained many of its War time features including original WD, blackout mask (possibly a reproduction), T position lighting switch, original CZ27 ammeter, canvas handlebar grips.  The wheel rims are stamped Matchless instead of Dunlop, which we have never seen before.  The engine is a War time service replacement unit and is still fitted with its riveted engine number plate

Frame number is 28655 and engine number 41/G3L 85201.

Please look carefully at the photos as what you see is what you get.  Feel free to ask as many questions as you wish before bidding and we will do our best to answer.  We also welcome inspection by prior arrangement and are located approximately 30 miles west of London.  We can arrange shipping or delivery World Wide at the buyers’ expense but please do contact us for a quotation before bidding.  Please note there is no VAT or other fees in addition to the purchase price with the exception of any delivery arranged at the owners expense.

View fullsize The Triton is going back to its owner today after and carb and tank flush.

The Metisse still needs a test run to see if the wiring issue and new carb have sorted that!

And the typhoon needs a new plug and kickstart spring…
