SOLD - BSA M20 1941 - RAF Contract

Sale Price:£5,500.00 Original Price:£6,000.00
sale

This rare RAF BSA M20 was despatched from the BSA factory on 5th June 1941 and delivered to RAF Hartlebury in Worcestershire.  It was supplied under contract C9892 for 1912 machines with a demand date of 17th February 1941.

The bike comes with a current V5C, registration 115 YUL and is registered as a Historic Vehicle and is therefore free road tax and MOT exempt.  The V5C records that the date of first registration in the UK was 1st March 2012 but declared manufactured in 1941. The number is non-transferable.  The dating certificate from the BSA Owners Club records that the bottom half of the engine currently fitted was manufactured in 1949.

The bike has been recommissioned by us and now starts runs and rides nicely.  During this process the fuel tank was removed and flushed through, the carburettor cleaned and magneto points removed, cleaned and reset.  The oil has been drained and replaced with fresh oil.  A new battery has been fitted and the headlight, pilot light and rear light and horn all work and the dynamo indicates a charge.  There is no brake light switch currently fitted.

The bike has been restored to civilian spec and in the process some post war parts have been fitted during the restoration.  However, given the rarity of this bike being from an RAF contract it could easily be restored to full military specification.  Please look at the photographs and contact us if you have any questions, which we will do our best to answer.

We are happy to ship to anywhere in the UK and also abroad at the owners cost.  Please feel free to ask us for a quotation if you would like us to do this.
