AJS 16MS 1961 Trials Special

£2,500.00

This AJS 16 MS 350cc Trial Special has been built by the original owner with a lot of care and attention to detail.  The bike comes with a current V5C confirming that it was registered in January 1961 as an AJS 16MS.  The document confirms that it is a Historic Vehicle and is therefore free of road tax and MOT requirements.  The registration number SSL 269 is non-transferable and records that it has had 11 former keepers.

Although it left the factory as a road bike, at some time in its history it has been converted into trials trim although it retains a road engine. As well as the lightweight frame, it has been fitted with aluminium wheel rims fitted onto lightweight hubs of unknown manufacture. In addition it is fitted with an aluminium trials type petrol tank, mudguards and outer primary chain case and trials gearing.  It is also fitted with trials handlebars and levers and a trials saddle.

The bike runs and rides but will require some work to get it road or trials ready. It would be ideal for one day trials or long distance trials such as the Arbuthnot Trial. Alternatively, it could simply be used as a road bike by someone wishing to have a lightweight motorcycle.

Please feel free to contact us to arrange a viewing or ask more questions.  We also welcome inspection by prior arrangement and are located approximately 30 miles west of London.  We can arrange delivery in the UK and Europe- at the buyers’ expense - but please do contact us for a quotation before bidding.  Please note this is a private sale and therefore there is no VAT or other fees in addition to the purchase price (other than delivery costs).
